A lively, rock song in Turkish that re-tells the account of the woman caught in adultery in John's Gospel (chapter 8 verses 2-11).
The lyrics are poignant, captivating and were prompted by a very real contemporary issue.
The songwriter says, "This song was inspired by the case of Amina Lawal, a young Nigerian woman who shot to international attention when under the Sharia law operating in her state, she was sentenced to death by stoning. In the middle of all media and political brouhaha that surrounded this was a woman with a small baby wondering what was going to happen. As it happens, Sharia law shares a lot of similarities to the Jewish law operating in Jerusalem in Jesus' day so I wrote the song for contemporary Muslim audiences.".
