When Mary fully turned and saw Jesus in the garden--risen and alive, the steps she took toward him carried her from the gloom of mourning into the light of realisation and joy! She was no longer confused and upset over Jesus' missing body; there he was! She no longer had to mourn his death; he was alive! She never needed to go back to that mourning and confusion--there was a clear line between the two and Mary joyfully crossed it.
